Vihiga is in western Kenya region of Kenya. The county boarders Nandi to the East, Siaya County to the west and Kakamega County to the North. It covers an average area of 563 km squared, with annual rainfall of between 1800mm-2000mm and 24 degrees centigrade. Population stands at 612,000 with annual population growth of 2.5%. The population is projected to be 688,778 by 2017. With age distribution of (0-14; 45%), (15-64; 49%) and (65 and above 6 %.) where youths represent 25%.
