Tender Notice

Kenya Forestry is ISO 14001:2004 certified on Environmental Management System. Bidders are informed that
the Institute or its representative will periodically inspect their premises/or product for compliance.

Kenya Forestry Research Institute invites the following tenders from interested bidders.

  • TENDER NO- KEFRI/HQT/CR-08/2012 – 2013 For Supply, Delivery, Installation, Testing and Commissioning
        of Mechanical Refrigeration Services at KEFRI- Kakamega Sub -Centre.

  • TENDER NO- KEFRI/HQT/GS-09/2012–2013 For Supply, Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of a
        15KVA Standby Generator Set at KEFRI-Kakamega Sub Centre.
Interested bidders may obtain a set of tender documents (including Bills of Quantities) from The Supply Chain Office, Kenya Forestry Research Institute offices at Muguga HQ, Nairobi, in person, or against written application commencing 19th April, 2013 and closing on 10th May 2013 during normal working hours, upon payment of non-refundable fee of Kshs. 3000/= . Bid bond shall be 2% of the bid price from a reputable bank or an approved Insurance Company by PPOA. Payment should be in cash or banker’s cheque payable to Kenya Forestry Research Institute at the Cash Office.

Only those meeting the following minimum criteria supported by relevant documents at submission of bid will be considered for further evaluation.
  • All Bidders Must have completed a minimum of five projects of similar magnitude and complexity in the last five years
  • All Bidders Must provide evidence of financial, personnel and equipment capability necessary for carrying out the works.
  • All Bidders Must provide a Bid Security in form of Bank Guarantee or Bid Bond from an Insurance company approved by Public Procurement Oversight Authority (PPOA) valid for 150 days from date of opening of tender.
  • All bidders Must provide Litigation History (both court and arbitration cases); satisfactorily complete Confidential Business Questionnaire and provide current Tax Compliance Certificate Must meet all statutory requirements as per Public Procurement and Disposal Act, 2005.
  • All bidders Must provide Copies of Company Registration, Current Tax Compliance Certificate, PIN and VAT Registration Certificates
  • All bidders Must provide all information requested in the instruction to tenderers in the tender documents.
  • All bidders Must submit two copies of tender documents.
All bidders must submit two copies (Original and Copy both clearly marked). The envelopes shall then be sealed in an outer envelope bearing the Tender Number but without the Tenderer’s name and be addressed to:

and placed in the tender box on ground floor – Kenya Forestry Research Institute offices at Muguga or sent by post so as to reach
the above address not later than 10th May 2013 at 12.00pm.
  • Submitted bids will be opened publicly at the same venue shortly thereafter in the presence of the tenderers or their representatives who choose to attend.
  • Prices quoted must remain valid for One Hundred and Twenty (120) days from the date of opening tender.
  • Any form of Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.
  • The Kenya Forestry Research Institute reserves the right to reject any tender without giving reasons for the rejection and does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
