pic1 Rift Valley Eco-Region Research Programme is mandated to undertake research in forestry and allied natural resources focusing mainly in water towers (Mau Complex, Mt. Elgon and Cherangany), woodlands and farmlands. The Programme implements its research and development activities in the following thematic areas:

Forest Productivity and Improvement; Biodiversity and Environment Management; Forest Products Development; Socio-economics, Policy and Governance; and Technical Support Services.

Location

RVERP – Londiani Centre is situated in Londiani, 3 km from Londiani Junction off Nakuru-Kericho highway next to Kenya Forestry College. The programme has three sub-centres namely: Turkana Sub-centre , located in Lodwar Town, Baringo Sub-centre in Marigat town 2 km along Marigat –Perrkera Scheme, and Turbo Sub-centre in Turbo town, 1 km along Turbo-Soi junction off Eldoret-Webuye road.

Geographical Coverage
RVERP covers eleven counties namely; Baringo, Bomet, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Kericho, Nandi, Narok, Nakuru, Trans Nzoia, Turkana, Uasin Gishu and West Pokot. The eco-region also partially covers; Kajiado, Kakamega, Samburu and Laikipia counties.
